PROTECT AND EXPAND SOCIAL SECURITY
Social Security is one of the longest serving and most successful programs that the United States government has ever provided. Before social security was instituted, 50% of our seniors were living in poverty compared to 10% today. These seniors are hardworking Americans who have labored their entire lives and paid into the program so that they can retire with the dignity and respect they deserve. We not only need to protect but expand services by lifting the cap on income and providing reasonable cost of living increases based on inflation. With these modifications, we can once again have a long term, sustainable solution that will be there for us all when we are ready to retire.
